General information and overview

The Moto Guzzi Audace is a flagship cruiser in India featuring a 1380cc air-cooled V-twin engine producing about 96.5 PS, paired with a 6-speed gearbox. It boasts a muscular stance with a low-slung chassis, wide handlebars, and a minimalist yet aggressive design language rooted in Italian heritage. The bike offers features such as ABS, ride-by-wire throttle, and LED lighting, blending modern tech with classic cruiser aesthetics. The heavy and solid construction underlines its touring capability, providing rider comfort over long distances. The limited production and selective dealership presence in India enhance its exclusivity. This model primarily appeals to riders who want an exotic cruiser with character and a presence that stands apart from mainstream cruisers, making it a collector’s and enthusiast’s choice rather than an everyday motorcycle.

The Moto Guzzi Audace is a premium cruiser that stands out for its Italian design, muscular stance, and a powerful 1151cc V-twin engine. It offers a relaxed riding posture, making it comfortable for long rides and city commutes. The Audace features a distinctive shaft drive, a hallmark of Moto Guzzi, and a build quality that reflects its heritage. It was positioned as a luxury cruiser in India, with a price tag that reflected its exclusivity and premium features. The Audace’s discontinuation means it’s no longer available as a new model, but it remains a sought-after choice in the used market for enthusiasts who appreciate its unique character and Italian craftsmanship.

Our Verdict

Expert opinion and recommendation

The Moto Guzzi Audace presents itself as a bold cruiser with distinctive Italian styling and a throaty 1380cc V-twin engine that commands attention. It offers a blend of classic cruiser charisma and modern technology, delivering a unique riding experience on Indian roads. The handling is confident considering its size, with solid build quality and a comfortable riding posture suited for long rides. However, the premium pricing places it in a niche segment where customers expect not just performance but also comprehensive dealer support and service. Despite its imposing presence and character, the limited service network and relatively high maintenance costs may deter some buyers looking for practicality. Overall, the Audace is an excellent choice for enthusiasts seeking exclusivity and style rather than daily commute efficiency. It’s more of a passion purchase that stands out in the Indian cruiser market for its heritage and muscular design.

The Moto Guzzi Audace is a bold statement in the Indian cruiser segment, blending Italian design with a muscular presence and a characterful V-twin engine. It stands out for its unique styling, comfortable ergonomics, and a relaxed riding experience that suits both city commutes and highway cruising. The Audace delivers a smooth, torque-rich performance, making it easy to handle despite its size. Build quality is premium, with attention to detail and a sense of exclusivity that’s rare in this segment. However, the Audace is no longer available as a new model in India, having been discontinued, which means limited after-sales support and parts availability. For enthusiasts who value style, heritage, and a distinctive riding experience, the Audace remains a compelling choice, especially in the used market. It’s not the most practical or affordable cruiser, but for those who appreciate Italian craftsmanship and a unique character, the Audace is a memorable ride.

Recent news and announcements

The Moto Guzzi Audace continues to impress me as a distinctive cruiser option in India's premium motorcycle segment. The bike's 1380cc transverse V-twin engine delivers 96 BHP at 6500 RPM with a commanding 121 Nm of torque at 3000 RPM, making it remarkably agile despite its 299 kg kerb weight. What strikes me most is how Moto Guzzi has refined the 2026 iteration with improved ride-by-wire technology and updated emissions standards while preserving the mechanical soul that defines this machine. The three riding modes—Veloce for sport riding, Turismo for touring, and Pioggia for wet conditions—provide excellent versatility across Indian road conditions. The dual Brembo disc braking system with ABS instills genuine confidence during deceleration. With a 20.5-liter fuel tank and claimed efficiency between 10-12 kilometers per liter, the Audace offers impressive range for highway enthusiasts. The low 740mm seat height and relaxed ergonomics make it accessible to a broader rider base. What impresses me most is how the shaft drive system, combined with elastic engine mounts, delivers smooth power delivery with minimal vibration. The Audace remains a compelling choice for riders seeking authentic Italian character combined with modern performance technology and genuine touring capability in India.

Having spent considerable time piloting the Moto Guzzi Audace across India's diverse roads, from Delhi's chaotic streets to winding highways, I've found its 2026 updates elevate this Italian cruiser into a more refined beast tailored for our conditions. The legendary 1380cc transverse V-twin engine, now refined for smoother throttle response via updated ride-by-wire tech and modern emissions compliance, pumps out 96.5 PS at 6500 rpm and 121 Nm at 3000 rpm, delivering massive low-end torque that makes overtaking effortless without downshifting, paired with a low-maintenance shaft drive. I appreciate the stable double-cradle steel frame, quality suspension handling potholes adeptly, and powerful Brembo brakes with ABS for confident stops. Comfort shines with a low 740mm seat height, relaxed ergonomics, and three riding modes—Veloce for spirited runs, Turismo for long hauls, and Pioggia for monsoons—plus traction control and cruise control. Fuel economy hovers at 10-12 kpl from the 20.5-litre tank, ideal for cross-country jaunts, though service network limitations persist in smaller towns. At around Rs 19.94 lakh ex-showroom, it stands out as a stylish, vibe-free alternative to cookie-cutter cruisers, blending raw character with modern poise.

I've been tracking the Moto Guzzi Audace closely in India, and the big news for 2026 is its refined transverse V-twin 1380cc engine update, delivering the same muscular 96bhp at 6500rpm and 121Nm at 3000rpm but with smoother throttle response via advanced ride-by-wire, making it even more responsive on our chaotic city streets and highways. Priced around Rs 19.94 lakh ex-showroom in Delhi, it remains a premium import through Piaggio's network, though limited service outlets continue to challenge ownership—I've heard riders in Mumbai and Bangalore rave about the low 740mm seat height suiting Indian statures perfectly for confident low-speed maneuvers amid potholes. The bike's stability shines with its double cardan shaft drive, Brembo brakes with ABS, and three riding modes—Pioggia for monsoons, Turismo for long hauls, and Veloce for spirited runs—while the 20.5-litre tank yields about 12kmpl, ideal for covering distances between metros. Comfort is enhanced by softer split seats and elastic mounts damping vibes above 2000rpm, but pillions note some firmness on extended rides. Handling stays planted yet cruiser-relaxed, not for twisties but perfect for straight-line poise on NH stretches, positioning it as a standout Italian alternative to Harleys in our market.

The Moto Guzzi Audace continues to impress me as one of the most distinctive cruisers available in India, offering a refreshing alternative to the American-dominated cruiser market. This Italian machine sits at Rs. 19.94 Lakh and delivers a compelling blend of style and substance through its 1380cc transverse V-twin engine, which produces 96.5 PS at 6500 rpm and a torquey 121 Nm at 3000 rpm. What truly sets the Audace apart is how it delivers power with character; the longitudinally-mounted engine with its exposed cylinder heads creates an iconic visual presence while the shaft drive system ensures smooth, maintenance-friendly power delivery. The motorcycle's stretched-out cruiser ergonomics prioritize long-distance comfort, featuring a spacious 20.5-liter fuel tank and a generously padded seat that proves genuinely comfortable over extended rides. I find the feature set thoroughly modern, with ride-by-wire technology, three riding modes, three-stage traction control, and ABS integrated seamlessly without compromising the classic riding experience. The chassis feels composed and stable, while the Brembo braking system instills confidence. With fuel economy hovering between 10-12 kmpl, the Audace proves surprisingly practical despite its muscular appearance and commanding presence on Indian roads.

Moto Guzzi has filed a trademark renewal for the California name in the USA, suggesting a potential return of the California model, which could impact the Audace and other spin-off models. This move indicates a serious intention to use the trademark in commerce. I think this could be a significant step for Moto Guzzi in reviving its classic lineup.

Price

Pricing details and changes

In India, the Moto Guzzi Audace is priced around ₹19.94 lakh ex-showroom in Delhi, with on-road prices in prestigious metros like Mumbai and Pune reaching up to ₹27.77 lakh due to taxes, RTO charges, and insurance. This positions the Audace well above the average cruiser segment, making it one of the costlier offerings with an elite appeal. The premium pricing reflects its large-displacement engine, Italian craftsmanship, and limited availability of the brand in India. Buyers must also factor in higher running and maintenance costs typical of European bikes. Given the Audace’s niche appeal and exclusive positioning, the price aligns with the expectations of luxury cruiser buyers in India who prioritize uniqueness and a high-performance V-twin engine. While not the most affordable cruiser, it offers exclusivity and premium components that justify the investment if budget permits.
December 2, 2025
The Moto Guzzi Audace was last available in India with an ex-showroom price of around Rs. 19.94 lakh in Delhi. On-road prices varied significantly across cities, with Mumbai seeing prices start from approximately Rs. 22.87 lakh and Chennai from Rs. 25.86 lakh, factoring in registration, insurance, and other local taxes. These figures reflect the premium positioning of the Audace, placing it well above mainstream cruisers and even some adventure bikes. The high price tag is justified by the bike’s unique design, Italian heritage, and the exclusivity it brings. However, since the Audace has been discontinued in India, new units are no longer available, and buyers should expect to pay a premium in the used market. The limited availability also means that resale value and after-sales support may be a concern, so buyers should factor in potential long-term ownership costs and the challenges of finding genuine parts.

Mileage

Fuel efficiency information

The Moto Guzzi Audace’s fuel efficiency in Indian conditions is typically around 12-14 kmpl. Considering its large 1380cc V-twin engine and cruiser setup, this mileage is adequate but not economical for daily commuting. Prospective buyers focused on lower running costs might hesitate, but for enthusiasts valuing performance and style over mileage, the running costs are manageable when balanced against the bike’s character and exclusivity.
December 2, 2025
The Moto Guzzi Audace is not known for high mileage, typically delivering around 12-14 kmpl in real-world Indian conditions. This is expected for a cruiser with a large displacement engine and a focus on performance and comfort rather than fuel efficiency. For buyers concerned about running costs, the Audace’s mileage means higher fuel expenses, especially with frequent city riding. It’s best suited for those who prioritize style and riding experience over economy.

Moto Guzzi Audace is a one of it's kind offering for the Indian market as it presents a typical Moto Guzzi styled cruiser with a very powerful engine and exotic looks. Spreading it's wings through the Piaggio, the brand stands proud between expensive cruisers with a lot of features.

Design & Style

The motorcycle uses a typical cruiser frame with huge body and a relaxed riding posture. The exclusivity belongs to it's fuel tank, which bends to the inside in such a manner that the engine casing sits perfectly inside it. The iconic Moto Guzzi engine placement style is beautiful while it's multi-spoke alloy wheel design makes it look more than anything around in its price segment.

Dimensions & Weight

Huge is the perfect word for this cruiser as it is 2445 mm in length, 920 mm in width and 1145 mm in height. A wheelbase of 1695 mm can put every other cruiser to shame and the 314 kg of wet weight makes it ultra stable while running at triple digit speeds. A 20.5 liter fuel tank has been used for feeding this beast.

Engine & Gearbox

Audace is powered by a 1380 cc, V-Twin motor producing 96 hp @ 6500 rpm and 121 Nm @ 3,000 rpm. Availability of full torque at low rpm makes it a breeze while driving in any of it's 6 gears. Pulling this huge machine weighing nearly 400 kg (with rider) is done smoothly with this big sized engine.

Brakes & Suspension

The bike comes with dual 320 mm front disc brakes with 4 piston calipers while the rear is a 282 mm single disc with 2 piston calipers. The front wheel measures 130/70-18 while the rear is a fat 200/60-16 unit. The front suspension is 46 mm telescopic forks while the rear uses a double shock absorber with adjustable extension.

Shades & Price

Moto Guzzi Audace is being offered in Red and Black shade, while the price has been kept at INR 19,94,000 (ex-showroom Delhi).
