While yet to be launched in India, the buzz around the potential entry of this bike in India is difficult to ignore. In the eyes of the reviewer (and something of my own), the MT-125 brings a lot to the table, particularly when looking for a customizable but aggressive-looking urban bike, especially for young urban riders. Sharp, edgy design is one of the standout features of the MT-125. Test rides of the MT-125 reflected a nimble and agile bike with a lightweight frame that made sharp turns and easy maneuvering possible. A stable yet comfortable ride, even through rougher surfaces, is helped along by the USD forks up front and mono-shock rear suspension.

It means you get Yamaha’s legendary build quality and reliability without having to pay extra for things you don’t need.

Clearly, the MT-125 is aimed at young riders and urban commuters. If you’re in your 20s or 30s and looking for something stylish and efficient for city commuting, this is it. It ticks all the boxes. In terms of competitors, the obvious ones are the KTM Duke 125 and Honda CB125R. The KTM Duke 125 has a bit more tech with the TFT display and a few more bells and whistles. While the Duke's priority is in outright performance, the MT-125 does a better job of finding a balance between everyday usability and a gangster look.

The other great competitor is the Honda CB125R, but personally, I find the design of the MT-125 more pleasing. I love that raw, streetfighter look in a bike, and it’s got that.
