Is the Jaunty S frustrating slow at 25 km/h top speed?

by @sukhmandeepover 1 year ago0 views9 answers
Like many electric scooters in India, the Jaunty S is restricted to a top speed of 25 km/h to meet regulations enabling it to be ridden without a licence. This might be enough for urban areas, but some users have been frustrated while trying to keep up with traffic flow on wider roads or crossing intersections. But others say that the speed limit actually makes for a safer, more relaxing riding experience. Some riders are also wondering if they are tempted to modify their scooters to go around the speed limiter. So, let’s talk about how that 25 km/h limit makes it less usable in a day to day basis and if that’s even a deal breaker for potential buyers.

I guess it's safer when you're crowded. This limited speed allows me more time to react to pedestrians or any obstacles on the bike path.

All it is, is route planning. I don't take busy main roads and use quieter streets because speed isn't an issue.

With the speed limit, it’s great for slow riding and sightseeing. Not every race is necessary.

I've been tempted to mod mine for higher speeds myself. It's not worth the legal risks, but.

It's annoying sometimes, but the trade off is that I don't need a license.

The 25 km/h limit is plenty fast for most city streets, I've found. It's only a problem on big roads.

It's a deal-breaker for me. I require something that can cope with the traffic flow, more so during rush hour.

I actually like the speed limit. It makes me relax and enjoy the ride, not race through traffic.

Certainly annoying on some roads but I'm used to it. I just let people pass, I just stick to the side.
