Can a petrol scooter be replaced by Chetak 3201 for all use cases?

by @ashutosh.kumarover 1 year ago0 views7 comments
It is often said that the Bajaj Chetak 3201 is a good alternative to petrol scooters. However, can it actually do everything a petrol scooter does? There are a number of things to think about. One big concern for potential buyers is range anxiety, particularly for those who often make longer trips or don’t have easy access to charging points. But then there is performance - can it match the instant acceleration and top speed of petrol scooters? Another point of debate is maintenance. Different types of tests are used on electric scooters, as they usually require less maintenance but repairs can be much more complex and expensive when they are needed. And what about resale value? The EV market is still maturing and it’s unclear how well these scooters will hold their value over time. Finally, there’s the matter of charging time: Is it feasible for individuals who require their car prepared to go at a moment’s notice?

In fact, it’s better than my old petrol scooter. Instant torque FTW!

It's getting there. It’s not 100% yet but close enough for most people.

The real problem is the charging time. You can't just fill up and go like you can with petrol.

Depends on your lifestyle. It’s perfect if you’re mostly in the city.

It can do 90% of use cases, but you’ll need a backup for long trips.

Absolutely! I have been using mine for months for everything. No regrets.

No way. It is still too limited a range for it to be a true replacement.
