As a first bike for new riders, how does the Pulsar N125 fare?
Picking your first motorcycle is a big decision, and one that often sees the Pulsar N125 thrown into the ring. But it’s got that sporty Pulsar DNA in a more manageable package. Others say it's the perfect stepping stone: not so much power that it's overwhelming for newbies, but enough so that it's exciting. Some say it's better to start with something even smaller or move right to a 150cc. It also begs the question of learning curve - is it forgiving enough for someone who is new to two wheels? How about long term satisfaction – will new riders grow out of it too quickly? Of course, maintenance and running costs are things too, particularly for younger riders on a budget. New riders who started on the N125 and experienced riders who can weigh in on how it compares to other beginner friendly offerings would be great to hear from.

It depends on your goals. It’s perfect if you just commute. If you expect to do lots of highway riding, you may want to start bigger.

I teach people to ride and the N125 is one of the bikes I recommend. It’s stable, sits you in a good position, and doesn’t weigh too much.

Maintenance costs are low, which is great for new riders who are always on the budget.

It's a good middle ground. It’s not too boring like some smaller bikes, but it’s not too intimidating either, compared to jumping straight to a 150cc or higher.

Starting on a 110cc and working my way up is what I think is better. Absolute beginners can find the N125 to be a handful.

For a new rider, it was perfect. It’s super smooth in controls if you end up doing something wrong it’s super forgiving.

I picked up an N125 and wanted more power very quickly. It’s a good learning tool, but if you’re into spirited rides, you’ll outgrow it quickly.

It's a great first bike. Neither too much power to be intimidating for new riders, nor too little to be fun.
