2018 Yamaha R25 was recently introduced in Indonesia through an addition of 3 new shades. The changes are applicable on both non-ABS and ABS variant of the quarter liter racer. The Non-ABS model is priced @ IDR 56,200,000 (INR 2.67 Lakh, approx.) and the ABS model is available for IDR 62,200,000 (INR 2.96 Lakh, approx.). Yamaha has kept the technical specifications intact while changes on the motorcycle can be seen through addition of new graphics and shades. These three new shades from Yamaha are named as Metallic Black, Deep Purplish Blue and Silver Black. As Indian R3 was sold for a limited period, it could have got the same shades if BS4 compliant engine for the motorcycle was developed. The theme of Metallic Black Yamaha R25 is inspired from the liter class MT series motorcycles as buyers will get the same combination of paint on body and alloy wheels as the higher spec motorcycle. The motorcycle looks identical to R3 in design aspects while performance takes a back foot when compared to the bigger engine. Still, it is quite powerful when compared to other quarter liter machines around the segment. Primary rivals to Yamaha R25 internationally are Honda CBR250RR, Suzuki GSX-250R and Kawasaki Ninja 250. As of now, Yamaha has no plans to launch R25 in India. [caption id="attachment_164442" align="aligncenter" width="560"]2018 Yamaha R25 2018 Yamaha R25 in Metallic Black[/caption] R25 is powered by a 249cc, twin cylinder engine producing 35.5 BHP at 12,000 rpm and 22.1 Nm at 10,000 rpm. It comes mated to a 6-speed gearbox. The India spec R3 was very impressive as it came with 41.4 BHP at 10750 rpm and 29.6 Nm at 9000 rpm. Both the motorcycles are equipped with identical parts and hence, the 14 liter fuel tank makes them good for almost 300+ km of overall range in mixed riding conditions (highway and city).
