Yamaha has finally unveiled the 2017 model of YZF-R6 sportbike at the AIMExpo in Orlando, Florida. As expected, the design of 2017 YZF-R6 is heavily inspired from the recently updated YZF-R1 superbike. 2017 Yamaha R6 is powered by the same 599cc liquid-cooled, 4-stroke, DOHC, forward-inclined parallel 4-cylinder engine, which is mated to a 6-speed gearbox. img-2 Yamaha has not yet revealed the exact power and torque figures for the new model. The last generation model of R6 develops maximum power of 122 Bhp @ 14500 rpm with maximum torque of 65.7 Nm @ 10500 rpm. As of now, it is not clear what would the improvements in terms of power and torque generated by the 2017 model. img-37 New Yamaha R6 now comes equipped with riding modes via ride-by-wire, revised suspension package, ABS (Anti-lock Braking System), traction control, and an optional quickshifter. According to Yamaha, the fairing of new R6 has the most aerodynamic design ever, reducing its drag coefficient by 8% in comparison to the last generation model. img
