TVS has been in the news since its tie-up with BMW for the production of G310R. Since that was one different thing, it later went on to display another concept based on the same platform and named it as Akula 310. After the huge success that the concept gathered at Auto Expo 2016, TVS claimed that they will be launching the same in the early part of 2017. The same has been repeated at many occasions but this time, a specific time frame has finally been given.

TVS Akula (Apache RTR 300) Launch Details Revealed
TVS official Rio Aditya Putra from PT TVS Motor Company, Indonesia revealed in an interview with Otomotifnet.com that the bike will be launched within the April-July 2017 period in Indonesia. This further made it clear that the bike would be launched in India prior to the international unveiling, shortening the launch period to next 2 months only. The bike is being extensively tested in India, spotted at various occasions by various Indian fans of the product.

Akula 310 is even said to get the name of TVS Apache RTR 300 and would be the flagship product in the Apache lineup, when launched in India. It is a fully faired sport bike that has now been fitted with a BMW G310R's exhaust and a slightly raised handlebar. The engine on the same is a 313cc, single cylinder motor producing 33 HP and 28 Nm of torque. It comes mated to a 6-speed gearbox and may claim a price tag of around INR 1.70 lakh.

TVS is expected to offer the Akula 310 with ABS while rivals on the list includes Bajaj Dominar 400, Mahindra Mojo 300 and Honda CBR250R. It will even rival the upcoming BMW G310R, even being built on the same platform. TVS is expected to carry the same strategy as Bajaj Auto and offer the motorcycle with as much of features as possible in this price segment. The same platform has even been used for building the BMW G310GS internationally.
