Why The Price Is So High
The RS trim carries a premium of around Rs 20 lakh over the top-spec locally assembled Kodiaq Selection L&K. The difference is partly explained by its fully imported status and partly by the performance hardware, including the stronger 2.0 TSI engine, adaptive dampers and RS-specific styling.
The SUV also gets progressive steering and Dynamic Chassis Control Plus adaptive dampers with 15 settings. These features are meant to make the RS feel sharper and more controlled than the standard Kodiaq, not just quicker in a straight line.
Features And Design Highlights
On the outside, the Kodiaq RS gets sportier bumpers, 20-inch alloy wheels, a larger roof spoiler, stainless-steel dual exhaust tips and glossy black exterior trim. The India colour choices include Velvet Red, Magic Black, Moon White and Steel Grey.
Inside, the RS treatment includes red cross-stitching, RS-style seat embossing, a 12.9-inch touchscreen, 10.25-inch driver display, panoramic sunroof, three-zone climate control, powered front seats with ventilation, heating, massage, thigh extender and memory functions, plus a 13-speaker Canton sound system. Safety equipment includes a 360-degree camera, ADAS and 9 airbags.
Rival Context
The closest mainstream comparison is the Volkswagen Tayron R-Line seven-seater SUV. The Tayron is locally assembled and priced much lower, but it is less powerful and misses some of the Kodiaq RS hardware such as DCC. That makes the Skoda more of a limited performance-SUV choice than a value-focused seven-seater.
Should Buyers Wait For Another Batch?
Skoda has not confirmed whether another batch of the Kodiaq RS will be brought to India. Since the first 50 units sold out quickly, interested buyers should watch for official allocation updates instead of assuming more units are guaranteed.
