Mahindra U321 MPV Spied Testing in Chennai | Photos Shared by Srikumar Ramachandran | Video by Sakthi Sha Mahindra U321, the premium MPV from India’s largest utility vehicle manufacturer, was recently spotted testing around Chennai. The spy-shot was captured near Chennai Airport and clearly reveals some of the elements that the upcoming car will carry in its production version. The image was shared by Srikumar Ramachandran and comes to be the clearest one available for U321 currently. A close look reveals Mahindra’s traditional tiger claw grill surrounded by projector headlights on both sides. They have partially covered the headlight in order to hide its actual design from the viewers. A huge fog lamp can be clearly on the lower half of Mahindra U321. Article image Premium features include 5-spoke alloy wheels and large window sections on the car. Mahindra is expected to place the same around Innova Crysta and that would definitely need more work on the interior than its exterior styling. They currently have XUV500 in their lineup but design language of both is totally different. XUV500 looks like a full time SUV and even offers 4x4 option for the real off-road feel. Innova Crysta is more comfort oriented and cares more about taking six or seven people from one place to another in utmost comfort. Rivaling Innova Crysta is a tough job as it is one of the most reliable car of India, covering hundreds of kilometers without breaking a sweat. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Lzsik8LDSvQ Mahindra U321 will follow the same footsteps and not just that, they will even try undercutting the price of Innova by a good margin. Once, Mahindra Xylo was considered a good product as a people carrier but changing times demanded more than just seats and enough space inside a car. U321 is an attempt (like Tata Hexa) that may help them get the required chunk of sales from the premium MPV segment. As they are quite different from Tata (in terms of marketing and sales), chances of success stay on their side for U321.
