Getting somewhere in between the compact SUV and above 4 meter SUV's, the new Honda BR-V has launched in the country with a starting price of INR 8,75,000 (Ex-showroom Delhi). The car comes with some of the best dimensions of it's segment while loses on many necessary additions to the car world. All in all, it is a Honda and would not disappoint when it comes to built quality and ease of mind.
Honda BR-V is powered by Honda's 2 very own best performing engines. The petrol motor is the same 1497 cc, 4-cylinder unit producing 119 PS and 145 Nm of torque. It surprisingly comes mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox and returns 15.4 kmpl of company claimed mileage. The same engine brings CVT into action and returns 16 kmpl from this setup. Paddle shifters are available on the CVT variant.
The diesel engine is the same 1498 cc, 4-cylinder engine from Honda City, producing 100 PS and 200 Nm of torque. It again uses a 6-speed manual gearbox and provides 21.9 kmpl of mileage. Every variant is available with just front wheel drive and BR-V is made to accommodate 7 passengers, making it the first of it's segment to do so.
It would be made available in 4 variants namely E, S, V and VX. The shades on offer include Carnelian Red Pearl, Orchid White Pearl, Urban Titanium Metallic, Taffeta White, Golden Brown Metallic, and Alabaster Silver Metallic.
