Abarth unveiled the improved version of the Fiat 124 Spider at Geneva today. The car gets a more aesthetic appearance, lighter weight and a powerful core. The roadster will be available in black-white paint complimented by red accents on side mirrors, front-bumpers, and brake calipers. The bumper is now better sculpted giving it more muscular appearance. The rear end of the car features a quad exhaust system and an extra pair of vents.
The Fiat 124 also gets bigger 17-inch wheels. The aesthetic changes brought in by Abarth give the car a dominated, slightly aggressive appearance. At its core lies a 1.4 liter turbocharged, MultiAir petrol engine capable of punching out a power of 170 horses and a top torque of 250 Nm. The Abarth can sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in 6.8 seconds, with a potential top speed of 230 km/h. The power is sent to the wheels through a six-speed manual gearbox, an optional sequential gearbox with paddle shifts installed on the steering wheel is also available.
The “Record Monza” exhaust setup the car makes roaring sound. Moreover, the car just weights a very low weight of 1060 kilos making a pleasure to drive. The Abarth 124 Spider will on sale in September at a starting price of €40,000.
