Maruti Suzuki is ready to impress the Indian customers this festive season with its smallest SUV, the S-Presso, which is based on the concept of Future S. The concept car was officially revealed at the Auto Expo 2018, while the upcoming micro-SUV will be retailed in India through Maruti Suzuki’s Arena chain of dealerships.
The popular Indian car manufacturer is all set to make a debut in the business of entry-level small SUVs in the country. The Maruti Suzuki S-Presso will be priced less than the Vitara Brezza compact SUV. The car is expected to be priced around INR 4.0 lakh and will be a rival for Tata H2X (Hornbill), Renault Kwid, and the Mahindra KUV100 NXT.

The company understands the growing interest of its Indian customers for SUVs and thus designed the product. The lowest part of the vehicle is expected to be around 180mm above the ground level. The seats of the Maruti S-Presso will be positioned on a higher side for a proper compact SUV-like feel.
On the interior, the upcoming car is expected to feature a similar design like the Celerio hatchback. The cabin will most probably feature a dark-grey theme combined with colour-coded bits. The dashboard is also expected to be inspired by the Celerio, with an analogue-digital instrument console.

As per the details available, the infotainment screen in the dashboard will be enclosed in a circular dial to give it a retro-modern look. The Maruti Suzuki S-Presso will get a lightweight chassis based on the Heartect platform that will also make the micro-SUV rigid and sturdy. The platform is also responsible for safety and better performance.
The micro-SUV will be equipped with a BS6-compliant engine to meet the upcoming regulations. The Indian government will implement the BS6 emission norms on April 1, 2020. The Maruti S-Presso will be powered by a 1.2-litre petrol engine, that is also present in the WagonR, Swift, Ignis, and the Baleno. The upcoming micro-SUV is also expected to get a CNG variant at a later stage in future.
