An Australian firm had come up with a 1000cc V-twin engine by combining two Royal Enfield 500cc single cylinder engines. After selling a few bikes in Australia, the firm had to wind up its operations due to some financial problems. However, Paul Carberry, the man behind the Carberry Enfield has found an Indian investor who is financing him to start operations in Bhilai, India.

The project is at an alpha stage and Paul is looking for suppliers for his motorcycle. User experience suggests that the drive of the 1000cc Carberry Enfield was very smooth and comfortable. Also, Paul has a reputation of engineering high quality motorbikes. The V-twin engine, also known as “Double Barrel” produces a power of 50 horses and is mated to a 5 speed gearbox.
The motor is also equipped with hydraulic lifters running above the cams, and can inject the fuel injection if need be. The Carberry Enfield which is still 6-7 months away and it is expected to be priced at INR 7 lacs.
