Yamaha Y15ZR V2 is the most happening crossover that one can get in the Asian market, carrying a powerful engine and eye-popping styling that one cannot miss once the vehicle comes into action. The step-through comes with an LED headlight, sharp front fairing, and motorcycle-inspired tires with a sporty exhaust system.
The small front tire that was seen on Y15ZR V1 has now been replaced with a bigger 90/80-17 tire to keep traction higher for the updated model. The powerful 150cc, single cylinder SOHC engine on the moped is good for 15 HP and 13.8 Nm, making it more powerful than regular 150cc bikes in India.
The engine comes mated to a 5-speed gearbox and thus, one fact becomes clear that it is not based on the same platform as the second generation R15. The headlight is based on the same design as a regular scooter, allowing a white beam of light that is powerful enough to bring confidence while night riding. The indicators are placed in a DRL-style placement within the main body section.

2019 Yamaha Y15ZR V2 Officially Unveiled in Malaysia[/caption]
Yamaha Y15ZR V2 is good for 4.2-litre fuel carrying capacity and weighs just 117 kg, making it almost 20 kg lighter in comparison to regular 150cc bikes. The high output and low weight equate to a great on-road performance.
Yamaha offers the Y15ZR V2 in Striking Cyan, Blazing Red, Storm Blue, and Dynamic Grey colour options. Y15ZR series earlier had a slightly watered-down feel and now, the sporty nature is clear through the use of impressive sticker patterns and matching alloy wheel paint schemes.
Yamaha will not launch any step-through in India in the coming months as the market is more focused on conventional scooters with a low footboard and better mileage. The price range of Y15ZR series starts from RM10,000 (INR 1.67 lakh approx, direct conversion) in Malaysia.
