Harley-Davidson India has recently increased the prices for its entire range of motorcycles. Most of them fall under CKD route as four most expensive, CBU route option remained untouched during this hike. The biggest surprise came through Street 750’s price hike of INR 8000 as it is locally manufactured in India. It seems like they have also included the year on price hike value within this CKD tax rate hike. Street Rod witnessed a price hike of INR 37000, making it almost non practical considering the closeness with Street 750. Iron 883 witnessed INR 51,000 worth price hike and now costs INR 9.23 lakh. [caption id="attachment_178183" align="aligncenter" width="825"]Street 750 The Harley-Davidson Range in India Now Starts @ INR 5,25,000 for Street 750[/caption] Three bikes that are equipped with 1200cc engine and all of them are priced between INR 10-11 lakh. It seems like the values hiked in 1200 Custom (INR 86,000), Forty Eight (INR 49,000) and Roadster (INR 77,000) are totally brand’s choice as they have now been re-positioned in the 2018 lineup. Harley Street Bob is now priced at INR 12.59 lakh and got INR 58,000 of price hike while same amount was hiked for Fat Bob (INR 14.59 lakh). Both Harley Low Rider and Fat Boy received INR 60,000 worth price hike while Softail Deluxe is now priced at INR 18.65 lakh (INR 66,000 hiked). [caption id="attachment_15712" align="aligncenter" width="880"]Harley-Davidson Roadster Harley-Davidson Roadster is now priced @ INR 10,99,000[/caption] Harley Davidson Heritage Classic got INR 70,000 worth price hike and now retails at INR 19.71 lakh. After that, CBU range starts well from INR 24.99 lakh. Harley Davidson was expecting some sort of tax reduction from the government but that turned opposite for them due to rise in tax slab of CKD bikes. The increase in price could affect their sales in a wrong manner as rising cost of fuel and increasing bike prices could create a double negative effect for this brand.
