Bajaj Dominar Sales Report: Bajaj Dominar 400 sold 1191 units in May 2018, registering a number that can be called positive in comparison to May 2017 but still miles away from the actual potential of Bajaj Auto’s flagship product. Those considering a bike above INR 1 lakh are always hovering around Yamaha FZ25, Yamaha R15 and Bajaj Dominar as all three of them register four-digit sales number. When not including them, more than 60,000 buyers prefer RE bikes that cost almost the same as these three bikes. Bajaj Auto even launched a series of campaigns that actually went against them and resulted in even lower overall sales. Even if there are 50,000+ buyers in India who spend above INR 1.5 lakh every month on Classic 350 (that too without ABS), why is Bajaj struggling with just 1191 units this month? Article image That’s because they have portrayed their product as a Royal Enfield rival and not as an individual machine that has intercontinental travel capabilities. Automotive fans would have loved this machine if this misconception was avoided. Have you ever heard Ducati xDiavel claiming victory over Harley Davidson Fat Boy? No, because both have a different purpose and brands understand this in a better manner than Bajaj Auto did with it's excellently performing and slightly overpriced Dominar 400. Article image
