What is the Enyaq’s real world range compared to official figures?

by Ashutoshover 1 year ago0 views7 comments
One hot topic is electric vehicle range, and many owners report large discrepancies between what the manufacturers claim and what they actually achieve in day to day driving. Skoda Enyaq is available with different battery options, each of which is equipped with an official WLTP range. But driving style, weather and use of climate control can all have a big effect on real world range. In this article, we will have a look at how Enyaq owners are finding in terms of range and how it fares in different situations.

The Enyaq's range feels like luxury coming from a Nissan Leaf. For my normal commute I can go a week without charging. The perspective is everything, and how you use the car.

I’ve found that style of driving makes a huge difference. With gentle accelerator use and eco mode, I can get pretty close to the official figures. Who wants to drive like that all the time?

For daily driving the range is fine, but it’s the inconsistency that bugs me. I’ll get great range sometimes and other times it will drop much faster than you’d expect. It tends to make planning longer trips a bit stressful.

I believe people need to be a little more realistic about EV range in general. At its price point, the Enyaq shines in terms of range. If you need more, you will have to pay a lot more for a Tesla or something like it.

The Enyaq’s range anxiety is real, especially on long trips. I'm constantly watching the range estimate and changing my driving to meet the range estimate. Driving an ICE car is not as carefree.

It's good range, but don't expect to hit the WLTP numbers. I have the 60 version and I will get about 200-220 miles of mixed driving. With the heater on it drops to around 170-180 in the winter.

The range on my Enyaq 80 has been a pleasant surprise. I can easily get 280-300 miles on a charge in summer with mostly highway driving. It's not quite the 331 miles that it is officially, but it's close enough for me.
