What can I customize on the Aftek Elmo?

by Sukhmandeep Kaurover 1 year ago0 views8 comments
Personalizing scooters is a popular past time among scooter enthusiasts, both for aesthetic and functional reasons. Are there any aftermarket parts and accessories that have the Aftek Elmo? Do owners make popular modifications to improve performance, comfort or style? Customizing the Elmo is similar to modding other e scooters or even traditional gas scooters. Are there any risks or warranty concerns of making changes? Okay, let’s talk about what the Elmo can be, and what the potential is for making it your own, whether it be simple cosmetic tweaks or more performance upgrades.

Decent stock tires, but I found some premium rubber to be a real game changer in both grip and ride quality. Something to consider if you ride in multiple environments.

I’m tempted to change out the controller for more power, but I don’t want to void the warranty. Has anyone ever had to deal with Aftek's warranty service after mods?

But do remember about practical mods! I installed a rear rack (sturdy) and have been able to use it for grocery runs and carrying gear.

Mine had some underglow LED lights added. It’s totally unnecessary but looks awesome at night and probably helps with visibility as well.

So compared to more popular scooters, the aftermarket scene for the Elmo is still pretty limited. Hopefully it gains popularity and that changes. For the time being, you might have to get creative with universal fit accessories.

I replaced the stock grips with some ergonomic grips and they've made it a much more comfortable bike on longer rides. An easy first mod, highly recommend.

Performance mods are something to be careful with. I have seen people attempt to increase the top speed and fry the controller. Unless you know what you’re doing, stick to cosmetic and comfort upgrades.

there is a phone mount and a Bluetooth speaker on my Elmo. It’s great for navigation and tunes on my commute. Pretty simple mods, but big difference.
