Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 has been introduced and the motorcycle enthusiasts are already debating if the new model is still true to the Himalayan concept. The 411 was simple, rugged, and accessible; and riders willing to sacrifice high tech features or raw performance preferred it to everything else. Despite having more power, advanced electronics and a modern design, the 450 represents a huge departure from its predecessor. Is the new Royal Enfield Himalayan a return to the core values of the original, or is it a natural evolution of the Himalayan that keeps the core values, but meets the demands of modern riders?

They've abandoned the original concept, I believe. The 450 is trying too hard to be what it isn’t, something that would compete with more expensive, bigger ADV bikes.

It’s in the rider, not the bike. If you can ride the 450 with the same adventurous mindset, it’s every bit a true Himalayan.

They've found a good balance. It’s more refined, but still a proper Himalayan. It's not quite as spartan as the 411, but that's not a bad thing.

To remain competitive Royal Enfield had to evolve the Himalayan. But it's still there in a more modern package.
