Should one pay extra for the Aprilia SR 160 Carbon?
by Sukhmandeep Kaurover 1 year ago0 views10 comments
In the Indian market, Aprilia SR 160 Carbon is a premium scooter that is priced way above what most conventional 125cc and 150cc scooters command. Sporty styling, a powerful engine and premium features like carbon fiber look panels complete the package. But some say that the high price doesn't make up for the performance gains over cheaper alternatives. Some others claim however that the unique riding experience and brand prestige make the extra cost worth it. Also, maintenance costs and spare part availability are being taken into account. With so many different opinions, it’s difficult for potential buyers to decide if the SR 160 Carbon is a good value proposition for the Indian scooter market.

Only if you live in a big city with good roads, is it worth it. In urban environments the SR 160 Carbon shines, but for small towns or rural areas with bad infrastructure it is overkill.

I'd say it's 70% worth it. It has great performance and looks, but comes without features like Bluetooth connectivity and turn by turn navigation at this price point.

If you like the finer things, it's worth it. It's top notch in fit and finish and feels special every time you ride it. If you just need A to B transport, look elsewhere.

Not worth it for most people. Yamaha Aerox 155 offers same performance at lower price with better reliability. The Aprilia is about more of a brand image than substance.

If you ride, then I can tell you as an SR 160 owner that it is totally worth it. It is addictive the way it handles corners and accelerates. However, you should expect to pay higher maintenance costs.

It's a mixed bag. It’s got great performance, but the stiff suspension can be uncomfortable on bad roads. It’s also a headache to find spare parts. It depends on whether you think it’s a pro or a con.

If you can afford it, I'd say it's worth it. The build quality, and attention to detail is on another level than regular scooters. It is plus, the resale value holds up well.

That all depends on what you want. It’s not a great daily commuter if you want something practical. The SR 160 Carbon, however, if you want something fun and unique to stand out from the crowd.

Not worth it at all. For that price, you can get a decent 200cc motorcycle with way better performance. The SR 160 is no more than a toy for the rich people who want to show off.

Absolutely worth it! The SR 160 Carbon is in a class by itself. It has unmatched handling and performance for any scooter in India. For a fraction of the cost of a superbike, you're getting a taste of Italian engineering.
