MG lists a 38 kWh battery for the regular Windsor and a 52.9 kWh battery for the Pro, with claimed ranges of 332 km and 449 km respectively. Claimed range is not a promise of a particular real-world result.

Compared with another EV at a similar quote, the running-cost question is broader than electricity per kilometre. Compare insurance, scheduled maintenance, tyre size, battery arrangement and the distance to a competent service centre. A small purchase-price saving can disappear if support or charging is inconvenient.

Choose it only after the charging plan is clear. Confirm the home or workplace installation process, the dealer’s support contact for charging-related issues, and the exact battery and warranty terms shown on the quotation. Claimed range is useful for comparing packs, but route length, traffic, weather and charging availability should decide whether the regular battery is sufficient or the Pro is justified.

The Windsor remains worth shortlisting only when the revised on-road quote leaves room for charging setup, insurance and the chosen battery arrangement. A lower entry price can look attractive, but the better value is the version that covers the buyer’s normal weekly distance without forcing frequent public-charger stops.
