Is the Tata Safari a reliable long term car?
by Ashutoshover 1 year ago0 views5 comments
This is where reliability comes into play and a premium vehicle like the Tata Safari is exactly what many potential car buyers would want to spend their money on. In recent years, Tata has made great strides in moving up the ladder in terms of quality, but there are still lingering doubts about the long term reliability of their cars. With Safari being such a new model in its generation, it hasn't had too much time in the spotlight yet. There have also been some minor electrical glitches to more serious mechanical problems, as reported by some early adopters. On the other hand, many owners have trouble free experiences. Much of the debate revolves around just how common these reported issues are (or how common the reported issues are in comparison to more common reliability issues) and how the Safari might hold up over the long term compared to its competitors.

I’d say Safari reliability is middle of the pack relative to what it’s up against. It wasn't the worst, but it wasn't the best. Over the years you will probably have a few issues but nothing catastrophic.

It's a mixed bag, according to the owner forums I've seen. There are some people with zero issues, and others who’ve been in and out of the service center. It's a gamble.

I've owned my Safari for a year now and it has been pretty good. Just a couple of minor niggles nothing major. I believe if you take care of it, it should last just fine.

Honestly, it’s too early to tell. It's not been long enough with the current gen to really judge long term reliability. Tata has been working hard to improve, so it may surprise us.

From my experience with other Tata cars, I wouldn’t put money on the Safari being super reliable in the long run. They've got better, but they're not up to Toyota level yet.
