Is the practicality of the Enyaq worth that extra cost compared to ICE Skoda?

by Ashutoshover 1 year ago0 views8 comments
As such, the Skoda Enyaq is a massive price hike over previously existing ICE Skoda models like the Kodiaq. It’s common to see such a price difference between EVs and ICE cars, but that still doesn’t answer the question of value for money. Unique features of the Enyaq are its spacious interior, low running costs and zero emissions. But potential buyers who struggle to justify the higher upfront cost. So, let's compare the Enyaq’s practicality, lower operating costs and EV specific benefits against its price premium versus traditional Skoda models.

It’s hard to swallow, but I see it as an investment in future proof technology. As emissions regulations on the horizon become increasingly strict, ICE cars will only go from practical to impractical.

For me, who needs to have bulky equipment, the Enyaq is a game changer. All in all, the price premium is worth it, in my opinion, just for the versatility.

I like the practicality but I don’t know it’s 10k better than a Kodiaq. Too much tech is nice, but you can get most of that in high spec ICE models already.

It's expensive, but with government incentives and lower road tax, it compares favourably. If you do the math over 5 years of ownership, it sure ain't much more expensive than an ICE Skoda.

It depends on how you’re going to use it, I think. However, if you do a lot of miles then the fuel savings can easily pay for the extra cost of purchase. It's harder to justify for low mileage users.

It's very practical, but the whole EV experience is what makes it worth it for me. Instant torque, silent operation and environmental benefits are valuable beyond the practical.

I don't think it's worth that premium. It’s practical, yes, but so are other Skoda models. I’m hesitant because of the high purchase price and uncertainty of long term battery life.

The price definitely justifies the practicality of the Enyaq for me. It’s so much more usable than my old Kodiaq thanks to the huge boot, flat floor and clever storage solutions. I'm also saving a ton on fuel costs.
