Is the new Maruti Dzire's 5 star safety rating too good to be true?
It came as a surprise when the new Maruti Dzire was recently in the buzz for achieving a 5 star safety rating from Global NCAP. Maruti Suzuki has for years been criticized for putting fuel efficiency and affordability above safety features in its cars. Many are left wondering if there’s more to the story of this sudden leap in safety standards. Others say, this could be a marketing stunt or the 5 star rated version might not even hit the Indian market. But others say this is a real change in Maruti's attitude to vehicle safety. The question arises over tests and standards, whether this will push other manufacturers to step up the game in the budget segment and how this could affect pricing.

This could be a game changer for the industry! If Maruti can provide 5 stars safety at their price, it will force other budget brands to do the same. Win-win for consumers!

It's not just about stars. Build quality and long term durability are crucial to real world safety. We shall wait and watch how these new Dzires fare on Indian roads after a few years.

I am happy as someone who has owned multiple Marutis. I don't know, though, if this will compromise the fuel efficiency and low maintenance costs to which we are used.

Honestly, I'm skeptical. For years, Maruti’s been cutting corners. This seems like a PR stunt to match Tata's safety image. I'm going to believe it when I see long term crash data.

Maruti should have stepped up their safety game a long time ago. I am cautiously optimistic but lets see if they actually bring this 5 star version to India without jacking up the price.
