Is the Innova Crysta expensive for what it is?

In the Indian market the Toyota Innova Crysta has established as a premium MUV with prices which start above 20 lakhs for higher variants. Generally, it is known as a comfortable, reliable and status symbol, at least among businessmen and politicians. But it lacks modern features and infotainment according to some who say that it's otherwise comparable in price to its SUV counterparts. Despite the premium pricing however, the popularity holds and it is still a popular resale vehicle. It’s a situation that begs the question of whether there is much more to the Innova Crysta apart from the brand name and what buyers are paying more for. Can you really live without cutting edge features, while the comfort, reliability and the Toyota badge are there to offer their values? But is it a smart long term investment, or is there a better alternative in the market at that price?

Overpriced for sure. The interiors feel very dated and the infotainment a joke when compared to Korean and European competition in this price category.

It's not just about features. Build quality and ride comfort is justified by the price of Innova. They aren't fancy gadgets but they make me feel solid and safe, which feels more important than anything else.

It's expensive, but it's peace of mind that you are paying for. Because of Toyota's reputation for reliability, you don't have to worry about your repair bills coming in down the line.

I would say it’s worth it if you using it as a family car or for business. It’s unbeatable space and comfort. There are better options for personal use, though.

Its versatility is justified with that price. It is easy to use on a daily basis and can handle bad roads for a champ. See if you can find that combination in other vehicles.

I think it's overpriced for what it does offer. You will get much better features and performance for the same price point where you can get an SUV. They're just milking their brand name.

Absolutely worth it! There is no comparison for comfort and reliability. I've driven long distances and never been tired. Also, that resale value is insane.
