Is the Himalayan 411 really obsolete now that the 450 is out?

The Royal Enfield Himalayan 411 is a simple offroad ready adventure bike that has been widely praised since its launch. But the new Himalayan 450 is more powerful, more feature packed and that has many wondering if the 411 still has its place in the market. The conversation around this topic covers everything from the charm of simplicity over modern features to the need for raw power for adventure riding and whether the 411 with its lower price point still offers enough bang for your buck for budget conscious riders. And it leaves you wondering if adventure motorcycles have become too much of a good thing, and whether updating and increasing power are always what the rider needs.

Both have their place. The 411 is a good choice for casual adventurers, and the 450 is for those more serious off roaders. Different target markets, not obsolescence.

The 411 looks ancient compared to the 450. It’s like comparing a Nokia brick to a smartphone. Of course the brick works, but why?

It's not different, it's just not obsolete. The 411 is just for those who want a more traditional, mechanical feel. It’s also easier to maintain and repair in remote areas.

Obsolete? Absolutely. It's outclassed in every way by the 450. Better suspension, modern features and more power. The 411 is no longer a reason to choose.

The 411 still has its charm. Not all need or desire the latest tech. For beginners or those who want a no frills ride it’s a simpler, more affordable option.
