Is the extra cost of the Bajaj Discover 125 Disc Brake justified?
Comes with Bajaj Discover 125, drum and disc brake variants are there, and the disc brake variant of the bike will cost a bit more. Disc brakes are said to ensure better stopping power, but drum brakes are deemed sufficient for a commuter bike like Discover 125 by some riders. Some people say the extra safety of disc brakes is worth every cent, especially in emergency braking situations. And there is also the maintenance cost question - disc brakes are probably more expensive to service. Is the better braking performance alone enough to convince budget conscious buyers that the extra money is worth it? Are drum brakes perfectly good for a bike that is used as this one is? Potential buyers who are trying to choose between the two variants often debate about it.

I have both, and the disc is nice but not a game changer for this bike. Better gear or accessories, save the money for them.

For peace of mind alone, it’s worth it. You never know when you will need that extra braking power and it could literally save your life.

I really regret not getting the disc version though. Drums work fine, but there’s always that nagging what if in sudden braking situations.

I'd say go for the disc. Besides the stopping power it’s also about brake feel and modulation. Overall it just makes for a more enjoyable ride.

Depends on your riding style. If you're aggressive, or get stuck in traffic, go with the disc. Drums are fine and cheaper to maintain for relaxed commuting.

Nah, too much for a 125cc commuter. Save the cash and get the drum brake. It's not like you're racing this thing, and city speeds are plenty with drums.

Absolutely worth it. You have much better control with the disc brake, even in the wet. I've had both versions and there is night and day difference in braking confidence.
