Is keyless operation on the Bajaj Chetak Urbane more of a hassle than it is a convenience?
The Bajaj Chetak Urbane has a keyless operation feature that the company claims is a modern convenience. Some users have found, however, that they have experienced delayed starts or even occasional failures to start. This has caused a lot of debate about whether keyless systems really are better than the normal key in ignition. Reliable, convenient daily use that allows for continued operation regardless of the weather or battery level. And there’s the question of security – is the scooter more vulnerable to theft when it doesn’t have a traditional key? Keyless operation has a futuristic feel to it that some riders like and others like the simplicity and reliability of a physical key. Further, we also discuss the learning curve for the new users and how well Bajaj has implemented this technology compared to other brands in the market.

This one is on the fence for me. I'm worried about security, but it's nice not needing keys. If someone was tech savvy, how hard would it be to hack and steal the scooter? At least you know where you stand when you have a key.

The keyless operation is a godsend for someone who always loses their keys! It’s not perfect and occasionally there are some problems, but the convenience makes the clumsy design worth it for me.

The feature itself is cool but I think Bajaj rushed it to market without enough testing. Twice already, my neighbor's Chetak has had issues. They should have used a regular key until they got the tech right.

The keyless feature is actually something I love! Oh, it’s so easy not having to dig for keys when I’m lugging groceries. It hasn’t been all smooth sailing, but yeah, it’s been smooth sailing for me.

Keyless operation is honestly more trouble than it's worth. I've had my Chetak for about 6 months now and at least once a month I find myself struggling with delayed starts. When you're in a hurry, it's super annoying.
