How does the Ashok Leyland Dost Strong fare in overloading compared to other competitors?

I believe it’s probably one of the better choices for dealing with the overloads on occasion. As always, don’t make that a habit or the mechanic will be the business end of your visit, far more often than you’d like.

Mine has taken a lot of punishment and is still going. I can tell it’s not happy about it, though. For sure, brakes wear out faster. Use at your own risk.

I’d say the Dost Strong handles overloading a bit better than Mahindra Supro. Of course no vehicle is designed to take that kind of punishment.

It's a mixed bag. Fuel consumption is up a little and steering a bit off, but suspension holds up decently after being repeatedly overloaded. Not recommended, but it happens.

Unfortunately, I have to overload sometimes. The Dost Strong is good enough for short trips, but I wouldn’t try that on any long hauls. Engine starts to strain.

OK to handle overloading, but you will definitely feel it in the long run. I had to replace my shocks earlier than I needed to. Better than some others I’ve driven, however.

Untrue, to say the least. Regularly overloading has caused me suspension issues. In my experience, the Tata Intra seems to be doing better with it.

We are all aware that overloading occurs. My old Tata Ace could never take the hit this way my Dost Strong did. With the suspension a champ, I wouldn't take it too far.
