Does the KTM RC 890’s aggressive riding position justify its performance gains?

Like a lot of sport bikes, the KTM RC 890 comes with an aggressive riding position that focuses on aerodynamics and control at high speeds. This can mean a more hunched-over posture, which is uncomfortable on longer rides or your daily commute. But this also offers better weight distribution and improved handling, especially when going fast or on track. The question here is how much comfort are riders willing to sacrifice for the performance benefits, and how much of that is mitigated by the fact that this is not the only thing the bike is used for, beyond track days or short sporty rides.

It’s great for short, spirited rides. For anything over an hour, however, I start to regret my life choices.

It’s a compromise, but one I’m willing to make for the handling. And over time you get used to it.

In fact, I find that the position helps me concentrate better on the ride. The bike sort of becomes an extension of your body.

It all depends on how you’re using it. Track days? Perfect. Daily commute? Might want to reconsider.

Not worth it for me. I’ve switched to a more upright bike and no longer miss the back pain.

It was uncomfortable at first, but I managed to adjust the bars and pegs, and it’s much better now. Not great for long trips yet.

It's not a couch; it's a sports bike. If you want comfort, buy a cruiser. What you’re paying for is the performance.

Absolutely worth it. There is no other car that can offer you more control in corners. If you end up being out for a long ride, you can do some stretches.
