Does the Ignis's styling help or hurt its appeal?

by Ashutoshover 1 year ago0 views7 comments
Maruti Suzuki Ignis is different from other cars in its segment in terms of design. It’s all a bit boxy with its high stance, there’s a quirkiness to it, its grille is sort of odd, the shape of the wheel arches is a bit odd… There’s a unique visual to it. Some people like the styling as it breaks the mold on the traditional hatchback design. However, it’s polarizing or even unattractive, say others. There is also debate as to whether this distinctive look sets the Ignis apart from the competition, or whether it’s simply limiting its appeal to a narrow slice of the market. But it also talks about how well the design has aged since the design was introduced and how fresh it looks in comparison to newer competitors.

On the highway it hurts, but in the city it helps. It’s cool parked on a street, but it feels out of place on long drives.

The design is already starting to look dated, I think. If you remember a few years back, quirky and fresh, it now just seems a bit odd.

What makes the Ignis special is the styling. But it’s not trying to please everyone, and that’s refreshing in a market full of play-it-safe designs.

It's a double-edged sword. It’s a quirky design, and that gets attention, but it also has a lot of people turning around and saying ‘well, that’s a weird looking car,’ without really paying attention to what it actually is.

The styling grows on you. I didn't like it at first but I love how it stands out from everything else on the road.

I feel that the design is too polarizing. Young buyers might like it, but it pushes away a great number of people who prefer more traditional looks.

The styling of the Ignis is the Ignis's biggest selling point! It's different in a sea of boring hatchbacks, and it also gives you that mini-SUV vibe without the price.
