Does the Ignis' small exterior size compromise interior room, or is it actually spacious inside?

by Ashutoshover 1 year ago0 views8 comments
Offered as a smart space utilisation compact car, the Maruti Suzuki Ignis reportedly offers a roomy cabin despite its small exterior dimensions. As a result, people have started to discuss whether the car really does deliver on this promise. The Ignis is praised by some owners for its clever packaging and comfortable seating and adequate headroom. Others say that the interior space suffers, especially by way of rear seat leg room and boot capacity. We then debate how the Ignis compares to other cars in its class and whether or not its interior space is big enough for standard family trips or daily commutes with multiple passengers.

It's more than enough room for a single person or a couple. The limitations are obvious, however, as soon as you try to use it as a family car.

The large windows and high seating positon make it feel spacious but in the end the dimensions are pretty tight.

It’s there, but it’s not being used well. Its shape is awkward, making it impractical.

Being a tall person, I find the Ignis more comfortable than many larger models. It really makes a difference with the high roof.

Legroom is definitely compromised, but the headroom is impressive. That’s just a trade off you have to accept when you get a car this small.

People expect too much from such a small car, I think. Given its size, the Ignis does a great job in space management.

The back is pretty cramped, but the front seats are fine. It’s fine for kids, but adults will have a hard time on longer journeys.

It's surprisingly spacious! It really makes the most of interior room with its boxy design. For short trips I have no problem fitting four adults comfortably.
