Could the Mahindra Supro Van be the ultimate adventure vehicle without us realizing it?

by Ashutoshover 1 year ago0 views7 comments
Imagine: You want to take your friends on an epic road trip but those old SUVs and camper vans are so old hat. Next, someone throws out the Mahindra Supro Van. Initially, you may laugh, but consider it, this tiny power house may be everything you need combined with the quirkiness you want for your next adventure. Small enough to fit in tight city streets, but big enough to fit all your gear. Its no frills design means you won’t be too precious about getting it a little muddy on those off road detours either. But is an adventure vehicle really what it’s up for? Can it handle rough terrain? Will this be comfortable over long drives? Finally, will it attract the right (or wrong) attention at your campsite?

If you're doing any serious off roading, I'd be worried about safety features (or more aptly, the lack thereof). Perhaps the light trails and gravel roads are safer.

The city maneuverability might be on to something. Urban explorers might find it perfect to discover hidden spots in a crowded area.

However, this could be a deal breaker for long trips, because of the lack of creature comforts. Basic seats, no AC, could get old real fast.

It's certainly not going to be winning any beauty contests, but that's sort of the point. This bad boy would be a conversation starter if you were to roll up to a fancy campsite in it!

Once I even took one on a weekend camping trip. On dirt roads, it was surprisingly capable and the boxy shape was super easy to load up with gear.

Are you kidding me? The moment you hit a pothole that thing would fall apart. If you want a real adventure, stick to proper off roaders.

This is a good thing Dude! The Supro is the underdog in the adventure vehicle world. There's this "so uncool it's cool" thing going on.
