Many adventure bike riders, especially those planning a long road trip or a transcontinental ride, will prioritize long-distance comfort. The KTM 1290 Super Adventure S is brimming with features designed to improve rider comfort with an adjustable windscreen, cruise control, and different riding modes. But some riders wonder if it's too much sporty DNA and too much power for all-day comfort. Potential buyers have concerns about seat comfort, vibration levels, and wind protection. In this question, we want to get a grip on the real-world experiences of riders who have ridden their 1290 Super Adventure S on long trips and how they feel about this in terms of fatigue, ergonomics, and touring suitability when compared to more traditional touring-oriented adventure bikes.

It’s comfortable enough, but the vibration can get pretty annoying on really long days. A lot of help was given by bar risers and rubber footpeg inserts.

It’s as comfortable as any bike I’ve toured on with a few minor mods (seat, windscreen). The stock system is good, but not quite perfect.

The old BMW R1250GS is comfortable for really long hauls, but comfort is subjective. After 6+ hours in the saddle, the KTM feels a bit more 'on edge.'.

It's a beast for touring. The electronics package lessens fatigue on long days while the power makes highway miles a breeze.

It's super comfortable; I'm 6'2". On long rides, shorter riders may find it hard to reach the bars and the height.

It's good, but not great. All day riding, the stock seat is a bit on the firm side. It made a world of difference for me, an aftermarket seat.

Absolutely! I did a 3,000-mile trip and was never uncomfortable the whole way. The game changers are the adjustable windscreen and cruise control.
