Are some owners right and the Skoda Felicia really 'unroastable'?

by Ashutoshover 1 year ago0 views7 comments
And some Skoda Felicia owners have a reputation for being fiercely defensive of their cars, saying they are 'unroastable' because they are so reliable, practical and good value for money. In particular, with its 1.3L OHV engine, the Felicia has earned a reputation for being very durable and long lasting. High mileage examples are still running strong according to the owners who boast that the car outlasts more prestigious brands. That, however, is every car's flaw, and the Felicia is not exempt. That doesn’t make it particularly fast, stylish, or feature packed by modern standards. So could the Felicia really be beyond reproach or are its fans just looking the other way from its shortcomings?

It's a great example of 'they don't make 'em like they used to' but that's not always a compliment.

Part of the joke is calling it unroastable. The car's mediocrity is just what Felicia owners are embracing.

If your only criteria is "does it still run", then it's unroastable. But by any other measure it's very roastable.

I'll give the 1.3 engine that it's bulletproof. But the rest of the car? Plenty to roast there.

For the price it is, and for the time in which it is, it's pretty solid. But unroastable? That's just fanboy talk.

It’s unroastable in the same way a Nokia 3310 is – yeah it’s tough, but would you really want to use one today?

No car is unroastable. The Felicia is sure, reliable, but it’s also boring as watching paint dry.
