The Mahindra Marazzo represents a thoughtfully engineered family MPV that I've found genuinely suited to Indian road conditions and usage patterns. Powered by a BS6-compliant 1.5-litre diesel engine producing 121 bhp and 300 Nm of torque paired with a six-speed manual transmission, it balances efficiency with adequate driveability. The vehicle achieves a respectable 4-star Global NCAP safety rating, incorporating dual front airbags, ABS with EBD, all-disc brakes, and ISOFIX child seat mounts that align with modern safety expectations. Its distinctive shark-inspired design philosophy creates an intimidating presence while the cabin features a new-age touchscreen infotainment system, reclinable and fold-flat middle-row seats, and longitudinally-mounted rear air conditioning for passenger comfort. The ladder frame construction renders it robust and abuse-friendly for Indian road conditions, while the spacious seven or eight-seater configuration delivers genuine practicality for family travel and occasional commercial use.

Our Verdict

Expert opinion and recommendation

The 2025 Mahindra Marazzo stands out as a practical and comfortable choice for Indian families seeking a spacious 7- or 8-seater MPV. Its refreshed design brings a bolder front fascia, sharper LED headlights, and a more premium look, while the cabin remains plush and well thought out. The ride quality is one of its strongest points, with a suspension setup tuned for comfort that glides over rough roads and potholes with ease. The 1.5-litre diesel engine delivers smooth power and strong torque, making it capable for both city commutes and highway journeys, though it can feel a bit strained on steep inclines when fully loaded. The interior offers excellent space, especially in the second row, and the roof-mounted AC ensures even cooling for all passengers. Safety is well covered with a 4-star Global NCAP rating and features like dual airbags and all-disc brakes. For those prioritising space, comfort, and reliability, the Marazzo is a compelling option in its segment.

The Mahindra Marazzo stands as a compelling choice for Indian families seeking a practical seven or eight-seater MPV that prioritizes comfort and usability over raw performance. I found the refined 1.5-litre diesel engine to be adequately powered for most driving scenarios, delivering a linear spread of torque that makes it easy to manage in city traffic despite its substantial size. The vehicle's light steering, well-thought-out practical interiors, and consistent ride comfort across varying road surfaces make it genuinely impressive for family duties. However, I must acknowledge that the smaller engine does show its limitations when tackling hilly terrain with a full load, and some vibrations filter through the floorboards at cruising speeds when fully laden. The third row lacks optimal shoulder room on the right side due to AC duct placement, which is a compromise worth noting. Overall, I believe the Marazzo delivers strong value for money as a spacious, comfortable family MPV, though potential buyers must accept it prioritizes practicality over performance metrics.

This 7 or 8-seater vehicle impresses me with its 1.5-litre turbocharged diesel engine that generates 121 bhp and 300 Nm of torque, paired with a 6-speed manual transmission. The reported fuel efficiency of approximately 17.3 kmpl makes it reasonably economical for family journeys and daily commutes. What stands out is its 4-star Global NCAP safety rating, which reflects genuine commitment to occupant protection with features like dual airbags and ABS with EBD. The spacious interior offers best-in-class shoulder room across all three rows, and with the third row folded, the luggage capacity expands to an impressive 680 litres. Starting from around 14.06 lakh rupees, the Marazzo provides excellent value considering its segment-first surround cooling AC technology and modern conveniences like a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system in higher variants. The 200mm ground clearance and body-on-frame architecture lend it a robust character while maintaining car-like driving ease. For families seeking dependable transportation without compromising on safety and space, the Marazzo remains a compelling choice in the Indian MPV segment.

The Mahindra Marazzo continues to be a compelling choice for Indian families seeking a practical seven or eight seater MPV. The 2025 updates have refined what was already a well executed people mover, with its distinctive shark inspired design now featuring improved styling elements including a more aggressive grille and updated tailgate design. Under the hood, the 1.5 litre turbocharged diesel engine delivers 121 bhp and 300 Nm of torque paired with a smooth six speed manual transmission, achieving an impressive 17.3 kmpl according to ARAI standards. What impresses me most is the vehicle's commitment to safety, evidenced by its four star Global NCAP rating, along with its best in class shoulder and legroom across all three rows. The interior now gets more premium touches with enhanced cabin ambience and modern conveniences like a seven inch touchscreen infotainment system in higher variants. At starting prices from 14.06 lakh rupees, the Marazzo remains exceptional value for money. The 680 litres of luggage space with third row folded makes it genuinely versatile for both daily commutes and weekend getaways. The body on frame construction combined with front wheel drive creates a unique blend of robustness and car like drivability that sets it apart from conventional MPVs in the Indian market.

The Mahindra Marazzo continues to be India's safest MPV option, and I find it to be a compelling choice for families seeking practical seven or eight seater configurations. The latest iteration maintains its proven 1.5-litre turbocharged diesel engine, delivering 121 bhp and 300 Nm of torque through a six-speed manual transmission, achieving respectable fuel efficiency of 17.3 kmpl according to ARAI standards. What strikes me most is the shark-inspired design paired with exceptional interior space, particularly the best-in-class shoulder room across all rows and generous 680-litre luggage capacity when seats are folded. The vehicle features dual airbags, ABS with EBD, and impressively maintains its four-star Global NCAP safety rating. Current pricing ranges from 14.06 lakh to 16.38 lakh rupees across variants, making it accessible for budget-conscious families. The cabin includes modern conveniences like seven-inch touchscreen infotainment with Android Auto compatibility, automatic climate control, and surround cooling technology. However, the engine can feel underpowered under full load conditions. Overall, the Marazzo represents genuine value for Indian families prioritizing safety, space, and long-distance comfort over performance specifications.

The Mahindra Marazzo has been reinstated on the companys official website after a brief removal, quelling rumors of its discontinuation. The MPV now comes with a price hike of Rs 20,000 across all variants and is available only in white. I think this move shows Mahindras commitment to keeping the Marazzo in the market, despite its dwindling sales.

Price

Pricing details and changes

The Mahindra Marazzo is priced between ₹17.4 lakh and ₹20.2 lakh for the diesel manual variants, with the on-road price in Delhi starting from ₹16.26 lakh for the base model and going up to ₹19.07 lakh for the top-spec variant. This makes it one of the most value-packed MPVs in its class, offering a robust feature list, spacious cabin, and strong safety credentials without stretching the budget. The pricing is competitive against rivals like the Maruti Ertiga and Kia Carens, especially when considering the Marazzo’s seating capacity and comfort. The service costs are reasonable, with a 10,000 km service costing around ₹3,400, which adds to its appeal for buyers looking for a low-cost, high-value family vehicle. The Marazzo’s pricing strategy ensures it remains accessible to a wide range of buyers, from families to small business owners needing a reliable people mover.
December 1, 2025
The Mahindra Marazzo is positioned in the mid-segment MPV category with ex-showroom prices ranging from approximately Rs 14.06 lakh for the base variant to Rs 20.2 lakh for the top-spec model as per current pricing. On-road prices in Delhi begin around Rs 16.26 lakh for the entry-level variant and climb to Rs 19.07 lakh for the fully loaded version, accounting for registration, insurance, and other statutory charges. From my perspective as an automotive reviewer, I believe this pricing strategy positions the Marazzo as a value-oriented alternative to competitors like the Toyota Innova, offering substantially more space and practicality at a lower price point. The incremental cost differences between variants are reasonable, allowing buyers to choose configurations matching their specific needs without unnecessary feature bloat. For families prioritizing genuine seating capacity and comfort over premium brand positioning, the Marazzo represents genuine value in the Indian market.

Mileage

Fuel efficiency information

The Mahindra Marazzo delivers a claimed mileage of around 17 kmpl on the highway and slightly less in city conditions, which is quite competitive for a diesel MPV of its size. This makes it a practical choice for buyers concerned about running costs, especially those who frequently travel long distances or have large families. The engine is tuned for efficiency, and the smooth power delivery helps maintain good fuel economy even when fully loaded. For Indian buyers, this translates to lower fuel expenses and fewer refills on long trips, making the Marazzo a cost-effective option for daily use and family outings.
December 1, 2025
The Mahindra Marazzo delivers fuel efficiency ranging from 16.5 to 17 kmpl under real-world Indian driving conditions, which I consider respectable for an MPV of this size and weight. This translates to manageable running costs for family-oriented usage, particularly on highway stretches where the diesel engine operates most efficiently. For city driving with frequent stops and starts, expect figures closer to the lower end of this range, while highway cruising can yield improvements. When calculating total cost of ownership, factor in the diesel's inherent cost advantage in India and the Marazzo's practical maintenance profile.

The Mahindra Marazzo is a significant new vehicle for Mahindra, and its complete development has been meticulously planned. It is likely the first vehicle after the XUV500 to be both good-looking and spacious, with 7 and 8-seater choices. The company-owned Italian firm Pininfarina created Mahindra Marazzo's design in partnership with the company's in-house design team in Mumbai. They created the Marazzo at the Mahindra Research Valley in Chennai, with significant help from the Mahindra North American Technical Center.

Overview

The Mahindra Marazzo is a significant new vehicle for Mahindra, and its complete development has been meticulously planned. It is likely the first vehicle after the XUV500 to be both good-looking and spacious, with 7 and 8-seater choices. The company-owned Italian firm Pininfarina created Mahindra Marazzo's design in partnership with the company's in-house design team in Mumbai. They created the Marazzo at the Mahindra Research Valley in Chennai, with significant help from the Mahindra North American Technical Center.

Mahindra Marazzo Design and Style

The name Marazzo is from the Basque word for shark, from which it draws inspiration for the design of the Marazzo. The apex predator of the sea inspired the front grille, fog lamps, antenna, and rear tail lamps, according to Mahindra's design team. The teeth on the front grille give the otherwise smiling face a frightening appearance, and they complement the smoked projector headlamps beautifully. The proportions are quite MUV, with a bonnet line that flows nicely into the roof line through the front windshield in a fairly van-like fashion, but the side accent lines give it a very aggressive canted forward attitude that's rather sporty.

The machine-cut 17-inch alloys are likewise anything but boring, adding a splash of colour to the side profile. The big tail lights that resemble a shark's tail, in shape and size, along with a large chrome strip that goes across the entire rear hatch, are the true standouts in the back. Unlike in the TV commercial, the Marazzo is pretty gorgeous in person. It's larger than the little Renault Lodgy or the Maruti Ertiga, equivalent in stature to the Toyota Innova (which is 150 mm longer), yet feels much smaller than the huge Tata Hexa, which is 4788 mm long.

Mahindra Marazzo Engine and Gearbox

Mahindra is well known for producing dependable and strong engines. Marazzo is no exception as it features a tried-and-true 1.5 L turbo-diesel engine which comes paired with a 6-speed manual transmission that delivers 121 horsepower and 300 Nm of peak torque. The engine's overall performance and punch are excellent. Marazzo has excellent low-speed drivability and requires a few gear shifts in traffic. However, the lack of automatic transmission and petrol engine alternatives makes Marazzo a tough choice for new buyers. However, the engine's fuel efficiency makes it ideal for extended excursions.

Mahindra Marrazzo Suspension, Brakes and Tyres

2023 Mahindra Marazzo has a body-on-frame chassis, front-wheel drive, and a transversely mounted engine, which Mahindra claims is the first time they have employed this combination in the world. Mahindra further says that the arrangement has the advantage to provide comfort and handling similar to a monocoque chassis. The front and rear wheels have been positioned as far apart as possible to maximize internal space, resulting in better weight distribution and improved vehicle dynamics. Despite the ladder frame, the new Marazzo has a nice ride thanks to the double-wishbone suspension in the front and a twist-beam configuration in the rear. To increase ride quality, the Marazzo also employs isolators between the wheels and suspension, as well as between the frame and suspension, which aid in shock absorption. The braking system is handled well in the Mahindra Marazzo with disc brakes at both the front and rear ends.

Interior and Instrument Cluster of Mahindra Marazzo

2023 Mahindra Marazzo's interiors were created in partnership with the in-house design company Pininfarina. Let's start in the front row, where the chairs are pleasant and comfortable despite a small lack of under-thigh support. The driving position provides the driver with a good perspective of the road, and the light-coloured interiors contribute to the sense of space. Dash and instrument clusters are very modern and appealing, particularly the way everything glows purple after sunset. The instrument cluster is also black-purple, with a 4.2-inch multi-information display nestled between the tachometer and speedometer. Besides providing important information, the display enables turn-by-turn navigation. It also has a timer and a reminder for personal dates such as birthdays and anniversaries.

The seats in the second row, like those in the first, are comfortable, but they have a 20mm longer seat base, which compensates for the lack of under-thigh support in the first row. The roof-mounted AC vents are fully adjustable, and you can even turn off the venting entirely, but the diffuse mode is the cherry on top. On a hot day, once the cabin has completely cooled down, or during a normal even drive, switching to diffuse mode spreads the airflow evenly around the cabin, eliminating the problem of an additional chilly zone.

The third row comfortably accommodates fully grown adults. Though three people will be uncomfortable in this space on longer road trips because of the rear-mounted secondary AC unit taking up space on the right side of the car, two adults will be comfortable in this space even on longer road excursions.

Key Features of Mahindra Marazzo

2023 Mahindra Marazzo key features include a new 7.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay compatibility, dual-tone black and beige interior, with a piano black finish on the dashboard, purple-illuminated analogue instrument cluster, roof-mounted AC vents for all three rows, and Mahindra's new Blue Sense app compatibility, projector headlamps, LED DRLs, Cornering lights, Remote keyless entry, Roof lamp having theater effect, The height-adjustable seat of the driver, dual airbags, ABS with EBD, disc brakes on all four wheels, ISOFIX child seats, impact and speed-sensing auto door lock/unlock, door ajar warnings, rear defogger with auto timer, car theft alarm, front and rear fog lamps and 80 km/h speed warning.

Top Speed and Mileage of Mahindra Marazzo

2023 Mahindra Marazzo has a claimed fuel efficiency of 17.6 km/l, which is fairly good for a vehicle of this class. The fuel tank capacity is 45L, which translates to a range of close to 800 kilometers after a full fill-up. The top speed of the Mahindra Marazzo is around 145 km/h, and it can speed up from 0 to 100 km/h in around 15 seconds.

Mahindra Marazzo Colour Options

Mahindra offers new Marazzo in 4 different colour options; Iceberg White, Shimmering Silver, Aqua Marine and Oceanic Black.

Mahindra Marazzo Competitors

Toyota Innova Crysta, Maruti Nexa XL6, Renault Triber, Kia Carens, and Maruti Suzuki Ertiga are Marazzo's principal rivals.

Conclusion

2023 Mahindra Marazzo is without a doubt Mahindra's best vehicle to date. The MPV is well-suited to Indian families and will be popular with cab aggregators because of its lower price point than the Toyota Innova Crysta. Mahindra's strong foothold in rural India will be an advantage for the brand, and they expect the Marazzo to impress purchasers at all levels. More space, more power, a higher premium quotient, and aggressive pricing will make Mahindra Marazzo a market winner in India.
