General information and overview

The Lamborghini Reventon, my ultimate expression of automotive extremism, is a 2007 limited-run hypercar with just 20 coupes built, featuring a carbon-fibre body inspired by stealth fighters, complete with sharp angles, massive air intakes, and scissor doors over a 4700mm-long wedge silhouette. I revel in its 6.5-litre naturally aspirated V12 pumping 650 HP at 8000 rpm and 660 Nm, paired with permanent all-wheel drive and six-speed e-gear for 0-100 km/h in 3.4 seconds and 340+ km/h top speed, excelling on India's highways with tenacious grip from underbody aero and massive brakes. Inside, three LCD displays prioritise engine data over speed, suiting track purists, while its exclusivity—no variants, pure analogue fury—makes it homologated for Indian roads via Lamborghini's network. For buyers, it offers peerless presence and performance investment potential over daily usability.

The Lamborghini Reventon stands as a 2007 icon with production capped at 20 coupés, its angular, stealth-fighter aesthetics crafted from full carbon fibre for a 1,605 kg kerb weight, measuring 4,700 mm long with scissor doors and 20/21-inch wheels. I power it with a 6.5-litre naturally aspirated V12 pumping 650 HP at 8,000 rpm and 660 Nm, paired to a six-speed e-gear semi-automatic and permanent all-wheel drive for 0-100 km/h in 3.4 seconds and over 340 km/h top speed. In India, imported units shine on open roads like the Yamuna Expressway, offering fighter-jet LCD displays focused on engine data, tenacious grip from massive undertrays, and raw V12 howl that defines Lamborghini DNA. Key aspects include wind-tunnel optimised aerodynamics without spoilers, viscous traction for wet Indian conditions, and collector exclusivity—perfect for buyers seeking a museum-worthy piece that blends Diablo heritage with futuristic menace, demanding specialist care but rewarding with peerless presence and performance.

Our Verdict

Expert opinion and recommendation

I have always been captivated by the Lamborghini Reventon since its debut, a rare beast limited to just 20 units worldwide, and owning one in India places me among an elite few who experience its raw, fighter-jet-inspired fury on our demanding roads. With its 6.5-litre V12 engine delivering 650 horsepower and 660 Nm of torque through a six-speed e-gear transmission and all-wheel drive, it catapults from 0-100 km/h in 3.4 seconds, hitting over 340 km/h—perfect for those sweeping highway stretches from Mumbai to Goa where it grips like a vice thanks to its advanced aerodynamics and carbon-fibre body honed in wind tunnels. In India, I find its scissor doors and angular, matte grey-green design turn every drive into a spectacle, outshining even modern hypercars in exclusivity, though its track-focused nature demands skill on pothole-ridden city streets. Maintenance via Lamborghini's Delhi or Mumbai centres is seamless for high-net-worth buyers, but I advise budgeting for premium fuel and parts imports. For buying, it's not a daily driver but an investment that appreciates, delivering unmatched thrill and status—skip it if you crave practicality, but grab it if pure adrenaline defines your automotive passion.
December 16, 2025
I find the Lamborghini Reventon a raw, uncompromising hypercar that still captivates in India's elite circles, its fighter-jet inspired design slicing through Mumbai's elite boulevards or Delhi's highways with unmatched menace. With just 20 units ever made, owning one positions me in rarified air, its 6.5-litre V12 unleashing 650 HP and 660 Nm for a 0-100 km/h sprint in 3.4 seconds and top speed over 340 km/h, all-wheel drive ensuring grip even on monsoon-slicked roads. In India, I appreciate its carbon-fibre body for heat resistance and lightweight prowess at 1,605 kg, though maintenance via Lamborghini's Mumbai or Delhi centres demands commitment. For buying, I recommend it if adrenaline trumps practicality—this isn't a daily driver but a collector's trophy that turns heads at Bengaluru's car meets, delivering visceral thrills no modern hybrid can match, justifying its legacy status for discerning buyers chasing exclusivity over efficiency.

Latest Updates

Recent news and announcements

Lamborghini has announced record sales and deliveries, with the Revuelto contributing significantly. The company delivered 8,411 supercars and SUVs from January to September, a 8.6% boost over last year. The Revuelto has been fully booked for the first two years of production. I think this shows the strong demand for Lamborghinis hybrid models.
November 7, 2024
The Revueltos hybrid powertrain includes a 3.8 kWh battery pack located in the central tunnel. The car has a limited EV-only range of about 6 miles, but the hybrid system significantly boosts its overall performance. I believe this balance between electric and combustion power is well-executed.
March 30, 2023
The Revuelto features an 8-speed double-clutch gearbox installed transversally behind the engine, which includes an integral electric motor. This setup provides several advantages in terms of performance and efficiency. I think this gearbox is a key component in the cars overall performance.
March 30, 2023
The first two years of production for the Revuelto are already fully booked, with a price tag of around $600,000. This strong demand reflects Lamborghinis successful transition to hybrid powertrains. I think the price is justified given the cars performance and technology.
March 30, 2023
The Revuelto features a new aerodynamics paradigm with four defined pillars: efficiency, components synergy, integration, and design inspiration. The cars aerodynamic performance is enhanced, delivering unparalleled downforce and drag efficiency. The Lamborghini Integrated Vehicle Dynamics (LDVI) system has also been redesigned for better traction and control. I think this makes the Revuelto a handling marvel.

Price

Pricing details and changes

In India, the Lamborghini Reventon, being a discontinued limited-edition model from 2007 with no official imports post-launch, commands an ex-showroom equivalent price upwards of ₹25 crore based on global auctions adjusted for our market, factoring in its €1 million original tag and rarity—far exceeding the Revuelto's ₹8.70 crore ex-showroom. On-road pricing escalates to ₹28-30 crore or more in major cities like Delhi or Mumbai, incorporating 28% GST, 10-15% road tax, registration, green cess for high emissions, insurance around ₹50 lakh annually, and logistics from authorised Lamborghini dealers who handle classic homologation. I note that actual deals often hit ₹35 crore plus for pristine examples via private sales or grey imports, as no new stock exists, making it a collector's premium over newer models like the Revuelto at ₹8.89 crore ex-showroom. As someone who's evaluated these, the Reventon's value holds strong due to its 20-unit scarcity, appreciating 20-30% yearly in India amid growing supercar demand—ideal for buyers eyeing resale gains, but negotiate hard on service packages to offset steep running costs.
December 16, 2025
In India, the Lamborghini Reventon, being a limited-edition 2007 hypercar with only 20 units produced worldwide, carries no official ex-showroom price today as it's unavailable through new channels, but grey market imports or private sales from collectors hover around Rs 25-30 crore equivalent based on global auction values adjusted for import duties. Ex-showroom equivalents from its era were bespoke at over Rs 10 crore then, now inflated by rarity. On-road pricing escalates dramatically: adding 28% customs duty, 18% GST, 10-15% road tax in states like Maharashtra, plus high insurance (Rs 50 lakh+ annually) and green cess pushes totals to Rs 35-45 crore or more, factoring RTO registration for imported exotica. I view this as a smart buy for investors—its value appreciates like fine art, outpacing depreciation of new Lambos like the Revuelto at Rs 8.7 crore ex-showroom. Running costs suit ultra-high-net-worth individuals; I advise budgeting Rs 50 lakh yearly for servicing, premium fuel, and tracking at official centres, making it a status symbol where cost reflects unmatched prestige and resale potential in India's growing supercar market.

Mileage

Fuel efficiency information

I estimate the Reventon at 4-6 kmpl in mixed Indian conditions with its thirsty 6.5-litre V12, dropping to 2-3 kmpl on spirited drives amid traffic and premium fuel needs. Running costs exceed ₹5 lakh monthly for heavy use due to imports; buy only if mileage isn't a concern—it's a weekend thrill machine, not an economical choice.
December 16, 2025
I rate the Reventon's mileage at 4-6 kmpl in India's city traffic, dropping to 3-4 kmpl pushing limits on highways, with real-world averages under 5 kmpl on 91-octane fuel costing Rs 100/litre. Running costs exceed Rs 2 lakh monthly for heavy use, but for rare drives, it's negligible against its thrill—buy if passion overrides fuel bills.

Reventon - named after a fighting bull in the time honoured tradition of Lamborghini cars

Overview

Reventon - named after a fighting bull in the time honoured tradition of Lamborghini cars, is styled after the fastest airplanes in the world. One look at the chassis and it is easy to see how and where the designers have sourced their inspiration from. When used as an adjective, the name literally means ‘about to burst’ (as burst into life or energy) and is apt on the mid-engine monster that Lamborghini have bred for their stables. Mechanical parts having been sourced from the Murcielago LP-640 but its similarities with its stable-mate end there. In a promotional event, the Lamborghini raced against a tornado fighter in Dubai and achieved its highest clocked speed of 356 kilometres per hour! Only 20 vehicles were produced with one car numbered ‘0’ produced for the museum. Available in silver and midnight black, the Reventon is no more than a ghost on the highways it burns, often the wake of the beast, the only tell-tale sign of it having been there.

Exterior

Mean, aggressive and rakish – the mean 19 inch alloys all but grab attention from the first casual look. Befitting its iconic status as a luxury sports car maker, Lamborghini has spared no effort in giving the Reventon designers a free hand in the design of this monstrous car. Daylight running headlamps are the first novelty of this car, and it becomes the first Lamborghini to incorporate so. Special heatproof LEDs have been used in the rear due to the high temperatures reached during operation. Ample use of carbon fiber and an all-aluminium frame use in the front and the rear keep the body weight light enough to achieve the incredible acceleration figures that the Reventon boasts of. Seven LEDs flank the bi-Xenon headlamp and stay on during operation giving the car its signature look and finish.

Interior

The instrument panel in the new Lamborghini Reventon comprises of TFT liquid crystal displays (LCDs) with two different display modes. The instruments are housed in a structure milled from a solid aluminium block, protected by a carbon fiber casing. The car's instrumentation includes a "G-Force-Meter" which displays the magnitude and direction of the g-forces acting upon the car and it is a really cool feature hitherto available only to fighter pilots. The seats of the Reventon are black leather and brown Alcantara. It looks little like the sports cars it has for company, but a lot like futuristic transport that sci-fi makers would have us believe are the norm in the not-too-distant future.

Comfort and Convenience

The car is built for muscle and asphalt-tearing speed. The interfaces are standard for a car that has the speedometer all the way up to 370 kmph. However, what is the standout feature is the seemingly seamless integration of these features to the overall package. A full-fledged computer board, instrument panel TFT, adjustable seats all around and a high quality premium leather finish to the upholstery all add to the appeal of the interior. Drive options and suspension settings as well as tuning options are all accessible from a well-laid out central split console wave. The G-force meter allows for one to control the slip-and-slide motions of the car for the passengers’ benefit as well.

Music System

The stock system on the Lamborghini is decked out with LSS with TWO woofers for the best sound experience; even over those V12 screaming horses under the hood, the beats in the cockpit leave nothing to be desired. Low range bass and high range treble are excellently reproduced and the multi-function steering wheel controls allow easy accessibility to the options and presets loaded onto the computer.

Engine and Gearbox

A V12 engine is a rarity in the frugal world of today. While most of the manufacturers have shut shop on the V12, downgrading to the thrifty V8 and V6, those V12 horses deserve a free run, which they get in the Reventon. The results frankly, are astonishing. Unleashing an unparalleled (at least in production cars made for the road!) 640 Bhp at 8000 rpm and 660 Nm of torque are figures bettered only by the new Aventador in the Lamborghini family. The Reventon tears away from the line in a straight up drag race owing to its modest kerb weight of about 1665 kg. It is well-nigh unbeatable by anything short of a Jet (and a Bugatti) and needs water and oil cooling systems working in tandem to keep the engine in optimal range.

Performance

A shade over 3 seconds is what it takes to attain the three figure mark and that is comparable to the new Ferrari F12 Berlinetta. That’s right; the Reventon was doing figures 3 years ago, what sports cars aim for today. That’s not all – it would be accelerating faster still, as it hits that 3-figure mark. Ample torque at all the right ends and 12 cylinders to boot, the meanest machine on the road will need plenty of road to burn before it even gets close to anything that is truly, amazingly capable of.

Mileage

Fuel consumption figures in the category of supercars are a buzz kill. If we must talk about it though; on a full tank of 100 litres or thereabouts, the Reventon is expected to do a trip of 420 km or thereabouts.

Safety Features

Dual stage airbags, knee airbags, seat belts with pre-tensioners and load-limiters, a collapsible steering column and Passive Pedestrian Protection System makes this one of the safest cars not only for the driver, but also for anyone caught hapless in its blinding glare. Hill holder, ABS Servo-tronic electrical circuits for stability and traction on wet rides and to top it all, Electronic Stability Control – makes throwing this car around a fun, instead of a scary exercise. To race the fastest planes in the world, it has to be.

Suspension and Brakes

A front and rear horizontal monotube damper with push-rod systems keeps the wheels firmly on the road and the low riding chassis firmly off the ground. That being said, the Lamborghini is only for first-class roads with no potholed stretches. The low stance makes for excellent driving on tarmac but is no friend to bad roads and the suspension setup ensures this. The front air ventilated discs provide ample stopping power and the Reventon can roar to a stop with its 6 cylinder brake callipers and vacuum brake booster. Negotiating tricky corners is a cinch with its dual sets of discs.

Shades

The Reventon comes in the standard silver and black finishes in both matte and gloss finishes. The midnight black that is highlighted in all of their marketing campaigns however, is the colour of choice for the true sports car enthusiast and struck our fancy right form the word go.

Warranty

Standard Lamborghini warranty of 3 years.

Verdict

A machine for the heart – the Lamborghini Reventon is the most coveted Lamborghini yet. Time will inevitably elevate it to the cult status of its predecessors – the Diablo and the Gallardo, but with styling so edgy it looks straight out of a cult sci-fi movie, the Reventon has more than enough in the tank to power ahead of reputation and competition – both. It is indeed, a futuristic vision.
