General information and overview

The Lamborghini Huracan in India is a mid-engined, two-seater supercar powered by a 5.2-litre naturally aspirated V10 petrol engine producing around 640 bhp and 600 Nm of torque, paired to a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox. It’s available in multiple variants like the Evo, Tecnica and STO, all with all-wheel drive and aggressive, head-turning design. The car measures around 4.5 metres in length, with a low stance, sharp lines and full-LED lighting. Inside, it’s driver-focused with premium materials, a digital cockpit and limited practicality – boot space is around 150 litres. Performance is blistering, with 0-100 kmph in under 3.3 seconds and a top speed exceeding 325 kmph. It’s built for thrill, not comfort, with a stiff suspension and loud exhaust note. In India, it’s positioned as a halo supercar for enthusiasts who want extreme performance, Italian design and exclusivity, with ownership being as much about the experience as the car itself.

The Lamborghini Huracan in India is a mid-engined V10 supercar that stands as a symbol of high-performance motoring and Italian design. It’s powered by a 5204 cc naturally aspirated V10 petrol engine that produces around 630 bhp and 600 Nm of torque, paired with a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission and all-wheel drive. The car can sprint from 0 to 100 kmph in under 3 seconds and hit a top speed of over 325 kmph, making it one of the quickest cars available in the country. It’s a strict two-seater with a low-slung, aggressive design, sharp handling and a loud, emotional engine note. The cabin is driver-centric with premium materials, a digital instrument cluster and modern infotainment, though space and comfort are secondary to performance. Variants like the Tecnica, STO and Sterrato offer different levels of track focus and off-road capability, but all share the same core V10 experience. In India, the Huracan is not about practicality but about owning a true supercar that delivers an unmatched driving thrill.

Our Verdict

Expert opinion and recommendation

The Lamborghini Huracan is a true supercar that delivers an intense, visceral driving experience that very few cars in India can match. From the moment the 5.2-litre V10 roars to life, it’s clear this is a machine built for performance, not practicality. The sharp handling, lightning-fast dual-clutch gearbox and aggressive styling make it a standout on open roads and tracks. It’s not the most comfortable daily driver, with a firm ride and limited visibility, but that’s part of its raw charm. The cabin feels premium but is more focused on driving than luxury. For someone who values emotion, speed and brand prestige over space and comfort, the Huracan is a compelling choice. It’s not just about straight-line speed; the balance, feedback and engagement make every drive memorable. If the budget allows and the lifestyle matches, the Huracan remains one of the most exciting supercars available in India today.

The Lamborghini Huracan is a true supercar that delivers an intense, visceral driving experience that very few cars in India can match. It’s not about practicality or comfort; it’s about raw emotion, explosive performance and head-turning design. The 5.2-litre V10 engine roars with a soundtrack that feels like a symphony of pure power, and the way it accelerates from 0 to 100 kmph in under 3 seconds is nothing short of thrilling. Handling is razor-sharp, with all-wheel drive and advanced electronics keeping it planted even when pushed hard. The cabin is driver-focused, with premium materials and a digital cockpit that feels modern and engaging. However, it’s extremely low on daily usability – the ride is firm, visibility is compromised, and boot space is minimal. It’s also not a car for those worried about fuel costs or long-term running expenses. For someone in India who wants a genuine, no-compromise supercar that makes every drive feel special, the Huracan is hard to beat, but it’s best suited as a weekend or occasional driver rather than a daily commuter.

Latest Updates

Recent news and announcements

For the first six months of 2024, Lamborghini reported record results in deliveries, revenues, and operating income, with the Huracán contributing significantly to these numbers. Orders for the Huracán cover the entire production run until its expected line closure in December. This indicates strong demand for the model even as it nears the end of its production cycle. I believe this shows the enduring appeal of the Huracán.

Lamborghini is set to unveil the successor to the Huracán at Monterey Car Week on August 16, 2024. The new model will feature a twin-turbo V8 engine paired with a hybrid system, marking the completion of the hybridization process of the Lamborghini range. This new super sports car is expected to offer best-in-class performance and driving experience. I think this hybrid transition will be a significant step for Lamborghini in terms of sustainability and performance.
July 29, 2024
The 2024 Lamborghini Huracán STJ is a limited edition model, with only ten units to be produced. This special edition celebrates the final iteration of the V10 engine and features enhanced aerodynamics, four-way adjustable dampers, and racing tires. It is designed to maximize performance on the racetrack. I think this is a fitting tribute to the V10 era.
May 13, 2024
Lamborghini has confirmed that the next Huracán, set to launch at the end of 2024, will be a plug-in hybrid. The new model is expected to have a sleeker and more aerodynamic design, a new front fascia, and an updated rear diffuser for improved downforce. It will also feature advanced technology including a fully digital instrument cluster and an updated infotainment system. Im excited to see how the hybrid powertrain will enhance the driving experience.
May 13, 2024
The Lamborghini Huracán Tecnica, one of the final iterations of the current Huracán line, combines elements of the Huracán Evo RWD and the hardcore STO. It features a 631bhp V10 engine, improved aerodynamics, and a unique chassis setup. This model is seen as a send-off before the introduction of the hybrid successor. I think the Tecnica is a great way to end the V10 era.

Price

Pricing details and changes

In India, the Lamborghini Huracan starts at an ex-showroom price of around ₹3.6 crore, going up to ₹5.6 crore depending on the variant, options and taxes. On-road prices in major cities like Delhi, Mumbai or Bangalore can range from approximately ₹4.2 crore to over ₹6.5 crore, factoring in registration, insurance, road tax and other local charges. These figures are for the current Huracan lineup, including variants like the Evo, Tecnica and STO. The pricing places it in direct competition with other high-end supercars, but Lamborghini’s exclusivity and brand appeal add significant intangible value. For most buyers, this is not a daily runabout but a passion purchase, so running costs and depreciation are secondary to the experience. Still, it’s important to budget for high insurance premiums, expensive service intervals and limited parts availability, which can add up over time.
December 6, 2025
In India, the Lamborghini Huracan is positioned as a high-end supercar with a price tag that reflects its exclusivity and performance. The base Huracan variants start around ₹3.6 crore ex-showroom, going up to ₹5.6 crore ex-showroom depending on the specific variant like Tecnica, STO or Sterrato. On-road prices in major cities like Delhi, Mumbai or Bangalore can range from roughly ₹4.2 crore to over ₹6.5 crore, factoring in registration, insurance, road tax and other local charges. Insurance alone can cost several lakhs annually, and service costs are significantly higher than mainstream performance cars. The Huracan sits in a segment where buyers are less price-sensitive and more focused on brand, performance and exclusivity. For someone in India considering this car, it’s important to look beyond the ex-showroom figure and factor in the full on-road cost, plus long-term ownership expenses. It’s not an investment in the traditional sense, but for those who value the thrill of a V10 supercar and the prestige of the Lamborghini badge, the price feels justified within its niche.

Mileage

Fuel efficiency information

The Lamborghini Huracan returns an ARAI-claimed mileage of around 7 to 7.25 kmpl, but real-world figures in Indian city and mixed conditions will be significantly lower, often in the 4-5 kmpl range. This means frequent refuelling and high running costs, especially with 90-litre fuel tank and premium petrol requirements. For someone concerned about fuel efficiency and daily running costs, the Huracan is not a practical choice. It’s best suited for occasional use, weekend drives and track days rather than daily commuting. If low mileage and economical running are priorities, a performance sedan or a smaller sports car would be more sensible. The Huracan’s appeal lies in its performance and emotion, not efficiency.
December 6, 2025
The Lamborghini Huracan returns a very low mileage, around 5.9 to 7.2 kmpl in real-world Indian conditions, depending on the variant and driving style. This is expected from a high-revving 5.2-litre V10 petrol engine tuned for maximum performance rather than efficiency. In city driving with frequent stops and traffic, fuel consumption can be even higher, making running costs quite steep. For someone in India who is concerned about mileage and daily running costs, the Huracan is not a practical choice. It’s best treated as a weekend or occasional use car, where the joy of driving outweighs fuel expenses. If low running costs and high mileage are priorities, a performance sedan or a smaller sports car would be more suitable.

Lamborghini, the world renowned super car brand has revealed its latest addition that will replace the Gallardo, Lamborghini Huracan LP610-4. Also, the unveiling was commenced to celebrate the 50th anniversary celebration of the Italian car maker. It will make its debut on the world stage at the Geneva Motor Show in March 2014 and the sale will start pretty soon after that. The name Huracan is derived from the name of the famous fighting bull of the Spanish Conte de la Patilla breed which fought in Alicante in August 1879 and was known for outstanding courage and strong sense of attack.

Lamborghini, the world renowned super car brand has revealed its latest addition that will replace the Gallardo, Lamborghini Huracan LP610-4. Also, the unveiling was commenced to celebrate the 50th anniversary celebration of the Italian car maker. The name Huracan is derived from the name of the famous fighting bull of the Spanish Conte de la Patilla breed which fought in Alicante in August 1879 and was known for outstanding courage and strong sense of attack.

Also, to create a lot more buzz and to flaunt this superb piece of machinery, Lamborghini announced of Huracan LP610-4 taking part in 130 different events in 60 cities all over the globe. It also flaunts a fresh new look which seems distantly inspired by Aventador and some from Gallardo itself. It has an improved body design which is made of aluminium and carbon fiber to make it extremely light (1422kgs of dry weight) while providing it with better rigidity. It is also expected to arrive in the Indian market by the end of 2014.

Design and Style

Remaining true to the really extravagant tradition of Lamborghini, Huracan LP610-4 has got a unique and wedge-shaped silhouette with clear lines and conventional doors along with a muscular exterior look. It has full-LED headlamps with Y-shaped daytime running lights at front, body colored front bumper with large air dams, B-pillars with large triangular scoops, body colored door handles and ORVMs, lower end of its side profile with Aventador-esque air intakes behind the doors, a rear diffuser, slim LED tail lights with a dropped-Y motif, beautiful alloy wheels, its four sporty exhaust pipes that comes out like two ovals on either end of the diffuser and its low-slung look from the rear three-quarter view to make it a formidable competitor among Ferrari 458 Italia and the upcoming second-generation Audi R8. Its specifications are not yet disclosed but we are sure to hear more about it ahead of its March debut.

Also, the first photographs reveal an increase in length, width and wheelbase of this fabulous coupe, which will also works in its favour. On the inside also, it is equally beautiful and luxurious. It has got a 12.3-inch colored TFT touchscreen instrument panel with rev counter, speedometer, trip computer, navigation and infotainment functions, the transmission tunnel, the console and the dashboard with fighter-jet type design, luxurious Nappa leather and Alcantra premium upholstery with seven color combinations, large and steering wheel-mounted shift paddles, a Start/Stop button, a driving dynamics system operated via a steering wheel-mounted switch to toggle between three modes: STRADA(Street), SPORT and CORSA(Race) which adjusts the behaviour of the four-wheel drive system, the engine and the gearbox, the exhaust note and the ESP and the standard Carbon-Ceramic brakes for excellent braking performance. Also, it has the optional 'Lamborghini Dynamic Steering' variable steering ratio system and magneto-rheologic suspension damper control for advanced customization.

Engine and Gearbox

Lamborghini Huracan LP610-4 has got a powerful and new 5.2L, 10-cylinders, EU6 compliant, IDS (Iniezione Diretta Stratificata – a mixture of direct and indirect fuel injection) based V10 engine with a maximum power of 610bhp (in DIN) and 601bhp (in SAE) at 8250rpm and a maximum torque of 560Nm at 6500rpm and is mated with the Lamborghini's first ever 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission called LDF (Lamborghini Doppia Frizione) and is helped by a fully-electronically controlled four-wheel drive system. This engine gives a top speed of over 325kmph and reaches 0-100kmph mark in just 3.2 seconds with the combined EU consumption figures of 12.5l/100 km and 290gms/km CO2 emissions.

Shades and Price

Lamborghini Huracan LP610-4 is available in a single variant and in a large variety of shades at an ex-showroom, Delhi price of INR 3.43 crores, which may vary.
